I am excited to announce a series of forums that will take place in communities across the federal riding of Pontiac.
Pontiac citizens made it clear during the election that they expect a more proactive, progressive and transparent government. They want the same from their Member of Parliament’s representation.
That is why I am organizing this series of forums – so that I can consult directly with the citizens, hear their views and assess the diversity of perspectives.
Issues such as climate change, electoral reform, the future of Canada Post, regional economic development, access to employment insurance and affordable high-speed internet – these are important and complex matters. Our government needs to hear from you in order to make good decisions. These forums will allow me to listen and report back to the Ministers responsible for decisions that impact us all.
In my view, this is a fundamental aspect of a more “open government”– an accessible MP who reaches into our communities for advice. Through my Facebook account (www.facebook.com/willamoscanada), I also hope to deliver live broadcast of some these forums, enabling online participation.
I am proud to be creating this space for public discussion, consultation and respectful dialogue where each will be heard. The diversity of voices will be reflected in my town hall reports.
Finally, in preparation for these forums, please fill out the attached form and return by mail (no stamp required)! Or fill out the online survey via the links appearing below.
